Opened in 2023, the Indigo House is a modern bed & breakfast and private event space nestled on a hilltop with an enchanting grove and sprawling mountain views, outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Enjoy exclusive access to all five acres, including the home and its four guest rooms. An intimate, three-day property buyout at the Indigo House is ideal for gathering friends and family for an extended, backyard wedding weekend.
With our DIY Micro Wedding Package, you get the flexibility to design the backyard wedding of your dreams. Arrive on Friday and host a welcome dinner for up to 20 people here at the Indigo. On Saturday, get ready while surrounded by your favorite people. End the day with an outdoor ceremony and reception. Wake up Sunday morning to gorgeous mountain views and bittersweet goodbyes.

HOW IT WORKS
A wedding, even a micro wedding, requires many decisions, a bunch of logistics, and a dedicated team to bring the vision to life. This package allows you to personally create or outsource any detail of your big day.
Since most of our couples plan from afar, we’re happy to share a list of vendors who we’ve worked with previously and who love micro weddings. You can also hire your local ice cream truck, fly in your dream photographer, or talk your uncle into officiating the ceremony. Some couples even exchange private looks or vows up on the Blue Ridge Parkway (just 20 minutes away) before their public ceremony. If it’s important to you, it’s important to us.
With our DIY Wedding Package, you can hand-select your vendors and rentals to create a one-of-a-kind experience (for up to 50 guests) based on your timeline and budget.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Our most flexible package allows you to handpick your vendors and rentals to create a one-of-a-kind experience (for up to 50 guests) based on your timeline and budget. This package includes:
Lodging: Enjoy a two-night stay for 8-10 people.
Ceremony & Reception Venue: Host a memorable outdoor event for up to 50 people. Quiet hours are 10pm -8am.
Rental Coordination & Delivery: We’ll help you navigate the confusing world of rentals, deliveries, and installments. There is an additional fee for anything you rent.
Event Supply Closet: Choose from our inventory of reusable decor items, signage, arbors, and more.
Trash Removal Services: Leave your personal trash and recycling in the garage and we’ll dispose of it for you.
Welcome Dinner Space: Since you’ll already have the rental items, grab pizza or BBQ takeout and host a welcome dinner for up to 20 people.
Bluetooth Speaker: It’s perfect for listening to your favorite songs while sitting by the fire.

Because we only sell 12 wedding weekends a year, we can book up quickly. Booking is first-come, first-served.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Weddings are held outdoors. Couples are required to rent a tent as a rainy day backup plan. Weatherproofing (like tent walls and a heater) can be included for comfort.
An insured wedding planner is required for events with over 20 people.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm- 8 am; all amplified sound must be turned off at that time.
Pricing excludes taxes. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your date.

About the Owners
Married after dating long-distance for almost three years, Stephanie and Kyle have a deep appreciation for gathering.
We opened the Indigo House with a vision to bring people together. Often—at least this was the case for us—it’s the only time all your favorite people will be in the same place!
Stephanie is the primary point of contact leading up to your wedding contract. She can also plan a fun bachelorette weekend or a custom itinerary for your visiting guests.
About the Property
The Indigo House comes stocked with all the essential items for an enjoyable stay. With three living rooms, a beautiful kitchen, plenty of outdoor patio space (including a fire pit), and a private trail, there’s plenty of space to relax. Each of our four national park-inspired guest rooms is thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind. The house sleeps eight adults.
With the micro wedding, you have private access to the full five-acre property.
Dogs stay for free!
As a pet-friendly property, we welcome your dog(s) as flower pups, ring bearers, and really the most honored guest.

How do I know if this package is right for me?
Our DIY Micro Wedding Package, allows you to fully customize your wedding. You have full control of every vendor and detail, ensuring your ultimate vision. This approach can be less expensive, especially if you expect fewer than 40 people. It allows you to choose elements that you want to DIY (such as decor, florals, food, etc) so you can splurge on the details that matter most to you. Or, you can let the pros handle every detail for flawless execution. A typical Indigo DIY couple spends between $15,000-25,000 for their DIY micro wedding at the Indigo House. If you prefer something with a fixed price, then the Inclusive Micro Wedding may be a better fit. It’s for couples who dread navigating 20 different quotes, negotiating prices with each vendor, stressing about availability, or picking the type of flowers in their bouquet.
No matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong!
I would recommend the Indigo House to everyone I know. The house and the scenery are absolutely gorgeous and it provides an incredible space to host all of your favorite people! Stephanie and Kyle are so kind and helpful and are always there to help if you need something. They were a huge help in facilitating, which was a big relief since we lived out of town. We will never forget what a special weekend we had at the Indigo House and we will definitely be back for anniversary trips with our pup!

Do you require anything from me?
EVENT INSURANCE
We require couples to purchase liability wedding insurance. This isn’t as expensive or scary as it sounds. For event insurance, you can talk to a local insurance agent about a one-day special event liability policy or use any of these websites:
Your names will be listed on the policy as “insured.” The policy should be up to $1M. The Indigo House must also be listed as Certificate Holder. If you’re serving alcohol, inquire about adding Host Liquor Liability to your policy. We strongly recommend including postponement and cancellation coverage as part of your overall event general liability policy if you’ve paid a lot of your deposits.

DAY OF COORDINATOR
For events with over 20 people, we require a professional, insured event coordinator.
LIQUOR LICENSE
A liquor license is not required for self-serve bars.
How does the lodging work? Is there more nearby?
Couples typically book Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday. Check-in is at 12 noon on the day of arrival. Check-out is at 12 noon on the day of departure. We ask that you have everything returned to the condition you found it in before leaving.
Want to make the most of a long weekend? Additional days or late check-out can be added to your package for an additional cost (example: Friday-Monday for a holiday wedding weekend).
If you need additional lodging, there are a lot of Airbnbs close by!

Is there parking for my guests?
Yes! You can fit about 20 cars in the parking lot and along the driveway. Overflow parking and shuttle services are available if you prefer to avoid cars in your pictures.
