FIVE WAYS TO COOL OFF THIS SUMMER

Grab drinks, snacks, and chairs and hang out in the creek

This is our number one favorite way to stay cool in the summer. Camille Trailhead is just 10 minutes from the Indigo House, has a parking lot, and has multiple water access points. Wander the trails until you find your favorite secret spot.

Explore Sugar Hollow Reservoir

Go for a swim at the popular Blue Hole or hike up to the waterfall. These are busy trails. It’s best to get there early!

Walk the Blue Ridge Tunnel

As you walk underground through the tunnel, you’ll quickly realize why this is the coolest trail around (hint- the temperature actually drops). Don’t forget a flashlight and water for your dog!

Ride the natural water slide at Paul’s Creek

A short trail, with plenty of access to water, ends at a natural water slide and swimming hole.

Hike White Rock Falls

Pack your lunch, a swimsuit, and your pup to hike this almost five-mile loop. There’s plenty of water access and lots of shade.

Too hot to hike?

Of course, if the heat is just too sweltering, we love to ditch the hiking clothes and enjoy a drink at one of these watering holes, which all allow dogs inside:
