While summer weddings may not be for every couple, the Indigo House offers a lot to help you and your guests stay comfortable. All of our ceremony and reception spots are located in afternoon shade. Due to our proximity to the mountain, we also tend to have a gentle breeze most days (great for us and great for the grapevines).
As June transitions to July, it really starts to feel like summer. That’s when you can expect long, warm days with varying amounts of humidity, evening fireflies, and hazy sunrises. August is consistently and reliably warm and humid, but there’s a special energy to wine country as the vineyards start harvesting their grapes.
Whether you plan a spring or summer wedding, our local flower farms have the best selection this time of year, even at the farmer’s market! You should also expect a chance of rain, which can be intense but brief, leaving you with breathtaking sunsets.
Come September, we’re known to hit highs in the 80s, but often, the nights cool down enough to comfortably sit by the fire. Summer transitions into fall as the wildflower field peaks with yellow blooms in mid-September.
An Intimate Soiree in August

Planning a backyard wedding for less than 20 people (and two very cute dogs) may sound simple, but it is planning a wedding after all! We loved how Michelle and Hayden personalized their intimate backyard wedding with wildflowers, close family and friends, and lots of love.
After getting ready at the Indigo, they held an evening ceremony in the woods. My favorite detail (besides her wildflower veil) was their ring-warming ceremony. After a family-style meal, they gathered under the moon for a relaxing night by the fire.

Overall, our experience was so easy. We never felt pressured and we knew the weekend would go exactly how we wanted it to go. [The Indigo House] had so much more than we ever asked for and it made our wedding so much more special.
An Adventure Elopement at Raven's Roost in August

Dariel and Jessica love to hike and explore in their free time so an adventure elopement felt like a natural choice. They held a destination adventure elopement with their parents and planned a huge party to celebrate with friends and family a little closer to home the following week.
The key to their success? Dariel said, “Get all the family on the same page.” Some members stayed near the Indigo and some stayed on-site so they could get ready together. The couple said coffee in bed on their wedding day was one of their favorite parts. To have that time in peace and relaxation helped to set them up for the rest of the busy day!
After a moment alone, their photographer joined them to capture all the special moments of their wedding morning, which included gift exchanges, getting ready, and leaving with their parents.
Adventure elopements are especially subject to nature. On this particular August evening, storms were forecasted to roll in just before their ceremony. Thankfully, they held off for the ceremony and we relocated their cake-cutting from outside to the indoor lounge. “Planning is going to go wrong somewhere. A lot of the time, those things happen out of your control. Breathe! Everything is going to be perfect!” Dariel said.
