The Indigo House offers an intimate backdrop of natural beauty and low-key vibes for one-of-a-kind micro weddings and elopements outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.
While we love helping couples plan Adventure Elopements for just the two of them, we now offer an upgrade so you can invite your parents too! We’re happy to help line up your vendor team, logistics, and offer you a mini honeymoon here at the Indigo.

With five acres of sweeping mountain views and towering poplar and oak trees, we help you create an inclusive and intimate celebration that feels natural. We have four national park-inspired guest rooms, multiple lounging spaces, plenty of outdoor patio seating (including a fire pit), and a private trail. The Shenandoah guest room offers ground-floor access to a hallway bath.
Whether you stay for the day or a weekend, we invite you to start your next great adventure nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, proving that good things really do come in small packages.

The Spaces

The Meadow
The Meadow is ideal for couples who desire stunning mountain views as their ceremony backdrop. This area is closest to the home and features afternoon shade, sweet romance, and seasonal wildflowers. It does have a gentle slope. Frame the ceremony with our complimentary arbor.
Our favorite part: This picture-perfect setting shines all year long and almost always has a breeze.
The Woods
Affectionately nicknamed and completely inspired by the enchanting woodsy weddings in Sequoia National Park, “Little Sequoia” was designed for the majestic I do. The ground is covered with premium mulch. The 40×20-foot ceremony location includes an arbor, pre-strung bistro lights, and 4 live-edge wood benches.
Our favorite part: The sunset’s golden rays, as they dance through the trees, set the most romantic light for evening ceremonies.
The Mountain Top
We’re just 20 minutes away from breathtaking overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park. These are perfect for exchanging vows for your adventure elopement or sneaking away to for a first look. Most overlooks offer sunset views with little to no hiking.
Our favorite part: Ravens Roost (pictured here) is very popular for its rugged terrain and convenient access. It has a parking lot, multiple photo spots, and doesn’t require any hiking.
The Lawn
Perfectly situated for a backyard reception, the lawn is a natural fit for an intimate evening under the stars. It’s beautifully landscaped with native plants and herbs, equipped with power, and fully shaded in the late afternoon and evening. Enjoy post-ceremony cocktail hour in the adjacent stonewall courtyard, complete with residential outdoor furniture, a fire pit, bistro lighting, and an overhead fan.
Our favorite part: There are mountain views on one side and a wooded backdrop on the other!

Downtown Charlottesville, a charming city just 30 minutes away, is the closest airport.

All packages require a 50% nonrefundable deposit to reserve and hold the requested date.
The remaining balance is due seven days before the event date.
All events are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
We offer group tours for micro weddings on Sundays from February to November. In the meantime, view real weddings from each season.
