The Indigo House, a new construction, adults-only, bed & breakfast is opening in the Spring of 2023. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, wine lovers, and craft beer fanatics. Oh, and did I mention it is also obsessively dog-friendly?
Like a short-term rental, we draw you in with an exceptional location, accommodating amenities, and an affordable stay. Our goal in designing the property has always been to create a modern space for the next generation of bed & breakfast goers.
In addition to overnight stays, we are gearing up for weddings with full-property buyouts and intimate elopements. There may even be a few ideas swimming around for a grown-up summer camp (complete with flashlight tag) and a haunted Halloween weekend (which may also include flashlight tag, but spooky). Our hope is to help you reconnect with the things and people you love, in a place that we love.

Location is Everything
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Indigo House has easy access to the Rockfish Gap Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen Resort, Shenandoah National Park (Southern entrance), and the incredible restaurants, breweries and wineries of the Nelson 151. You are well-positioned for days of exploration. We highlight many of the amazing local businesses and experiences on our Instagram page.
Hike & Gather

You’ll enjoy evenings lingering on the property at our communal fire pit with roasted marshmallows and a drink from our curated honor bar. We also serve up some friendly competition with an assortment of board games. Or, you can break out the ladder ball in the yard to watch the sunset over the valley.
We are a meeting place for generations of outdoorsy humans and kind dogs. We also understand that sometimes a getaway is actually a chance to get away, so if you are feeling anti-social, you can curl up in bed with a novel from the shelves of our complimentary book exchange.
Similar to a home rental, you will feel comfortable at the Indigo, but thankfully, you won’t have to pay all the fees to enjoy it.
Meet the Innkeepers
It all started back in 2017 when the frustrations we encountered in our own travels inspired us to create a design-driven inn that caters to dog lovers who wish to get out and explore the bounty of the Shenandoah Valley.

What is your favorite thing about the B&B?
The design- Each room is inspired by a national park and the desire to bridge old and new together. In all honesty, I love staying at short-term rentals like Airbnb and VRBO — it is so fun to temporarily immerse yourself in a new style, location, or way of life. I want to bring that amazingness into the Indigo’s design, while also honoring the tradition of the one-of-kind room styles that a classic bed & breakfast offers. I’ve been fine-tuning the design boards lately and stockpiling furniture, so stay tuned for an update on how the vision is becoming a reality!

What are you looking most forward to?
I am excited to enjoy the property. To hang out around the fire pit and have coffee in the morning on one of the porches. I also really enjoyed picking out our interior fireplace and can’t wait to play games in the living room with the fire going. So basically, all things fire.
Whether you prefer a hotel (hello rewards points), renting someone’s home, or booking your stay at an inn, we support you. Behind every accommodations provider is a bunch of people who love hospitality and their area. We’re thrilled to get to share the Indigo with you one day, and in the meantime, keep exploring what you love.
